Free at last!

My empty nest is re-filling, children back in my home 100% of the time. No more, oh tomorrow's a SCHOOL day, not one ugh...a backpack, an effort, and d-r-o-n-e. Well, I'm ready.

There will be more chocolate covered marshmallows, for sure. I am SO tired of the school year, and ready for home everlasting.

Cele-bray-shun

It's Mother's Day, me oh my! And the schools have well-prepared my children for honoring who else, but their mother. Me!!! And I didn't have to do a drop of shopping for my own self.

Tea time

A pomegranate raspberry green tea to be precise, and yes it's hot AND lovely. Got it poured in a Starbucks cup (I recycle), with that nifty java jacket somebody invented. Used to work at a coffee shop, I value these things.

In the hood today, you've got Earl fleshing out his heart and soul for everyone to witness as he re-climbs the trellis towards inclusion. Regardless, I'm working on my basement and enjoying my new home with cheaper rent. And stylish.

Saturday morning crush

These past months have been pure tedium, intermixed with boredom. Some things, small things, brighten my spirit and give me something to head forward for. Like, when my dad was here, his rhythms that wove in-and-out of the day.

He'd make coffee after coffee, randomly smoke his Marlboros, do batch of laundry after batch of laundry. He left a sense of that purpose and direction behind when he left, and I step into it on occasion just to set my brain right.

Now that he's gone I find myself making cup of Stash tea after cup of Senseo, and repeat...mainly for the warmth and fluids. I've been cooking too, alot more than prior and that small quest to create something satisfying and memorable, it's good.
